Happy Birthday to David Lett, that little gravedigger from London who went on to lead The Damned and was reborn as one Dave Vanian.
The Damned put out the first UK punk single with ‘New Rose’ and also were the first to release a UK punk record with ‘Damned Damned Damned’.
Marla Watson has been fortunate enough to have seen The Damned several times and even had a photo shoot with Dave in 1988.
The first photo is from that day and the second is from a show they did at the John Anson Ford Theatre in Hollywood. Both photos are from 1988.
