A day out in Warminster

david1170

Ian Glasper is still hard at work on his new Subhumans book, updating his notes and interviewing all the band members. He spent a day in Warminster last week interviewing bassist Phil.

This is what the Athenaeum looks like now, where the band did their 'last' gig back in November 1985. Subhumans, and the other Warminster bands like A-Heads & Organised Chaos, used to practice in the youth centre upstairs, and the weekly disco was out the back too, so this was a key building for the Wiltshire punk scene.

Anyway, the book is slated for spring 2022 publication, and is shaping up to be something a bit special if you're a fan of the band (or indeed the Wessex '82 scene in general).
